Moses was selected by the College of Arts and Sciences to give the student address at the big Commencement ceremony (picture courtesy of Doug Levere). Moses spoke about how UB helped get him excited about research. But he put in a plug for his old lab! He could have said what great results he got with us. Oh, well. It is a real honour to have been chosen to give this speech, and a real accomplishment to have kept his cool in front of so many people. We wish him the best!
Connor showed a poster of his work at the Department's Honors Symposium. The Symposium is a part of the Commencement Weekend festivities. His poster emphasized his work looking at how age affects the responses to sounds in auditory neurons. Much of the lab turned out in support. Congratulations, Connor!
UB held its Commencement ceremonies this weekend. Xiaowen walked in the procession and got hooded by Matthew. Xiaowen's family (her father, her aunt's family, and her husband) all came to wish her congratulations!
The Xu-Friedman lab had a get-together to celebrate this year's graduating seniors, Alex, Connor, and Moses. They were awarded appropriate honors related to their greatest accomplishments. All have great new endeavors planned. Best of luck!
